GÁBOR FARKAS
Gabor Farkas (1981) graduated from the Budapest Liszt Conservatory in 2005. In 2014, he received his doctorate from the Conservatoire under the guidance of Zoltan Kocsis and Tamash Vasali. At the same time, he studied at the Lake Como International Piano Academy under Mr. William Navoray.
In 2015, he won the Grand Prize at the New York Concert Artist & Associates Competition, and in 2016 he gave his debut recital at Carnegie Hall. In 2009, at the 6th International Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar, he won the 1st Prize, the Audience Prize and the Best Haydn Sonata Player Prize. In 2003, he won first prize at the Hungarian National Radio Piano Competition, won the Vienna Bartók Behra Piano Competition in 2000, and won numerous other awards at the Budapest Liszt Competition, the Swiss Greta Ericsson International Piano Competition, and the Budapest Andorfludes Competition.
In March 2012, he was awarded the Franz Liszt Prize, the highest Hungarian artist award. Received the Gundel Art Prize in May 2009, the Prima Junior Award in November 2008, the Best Young Artist in March 2008, and the Hungarian Honorary Citizen Award in October 2015.

The second CD is a live recording of the official opening concert of the 2011 Liszt anniversary, performed by the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zoltan Kocsis. This CD will also be released from Warner Classics in July 2011. Three different CDs were released in 2017. The first was the release of "virtuoso opera and song transcriptions of Liszt" from Steinway, New York in January. The album release concert was held grandly at the Steinway Hall in New York and was a great success. The second release is the "Schumann Album" from Hungaroton, Hungary. It has received great reviews from various music magazines. The third release is "Ferenz Farkasz Piano Concerto" from London Toccata Classics.
