Born in Denmark in 1955. He is well known worldwide as one of the few excellent harpsichordists. Studied harpsichord with K. Inglund and basso continuo with JB Christiansen at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, and further studied under T. Pinnock in London, winning the Danish Music Review Award in 1984. do.
He was active as a member of London Baroque from 1988 to 1990, and then performed with Collegium Musicum 90 until 1993. He also regularly collaborates with notable artists such as baroque violinists John Holloway and Emma Kirkby. In addition to solo activities, he has an extensive career in chamber music, and has expanded his activities all over the world, including Europe, Central and South America, and Japan. In 1993, he formed the early music ensemble ``1685'' with baroque violinist Ursula Weiss. In addition to performing, he also teaches Baroque music courses at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and throughout Europe and America.
He is also active in recording, and has participated in over 30 albums from labels such as Alheef, EMI, Chandos, and Kontrapunkt. Among them, Bach's Goldberg Variations won the "Diapason d'Or" in France, and the complete chamber music collection of Buxtehude, recorded with J. Holloway and JT Linden, and the collection of Maurice Green's works with E. Kirkby, won the "Diapason d'Or" in Denmark in 1995. They won a Grammy Award and received high acclaim.
