Netherlands Blazers Ensemble
- Wind Ensemble
The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble is formed by soloists from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the radio orchestras, the Residentie Orchestra of The Hague and the Holland Symfonia. The members come together about 40 times a year to perform special programmes, at home and abroad. They enjoy playing the classical repertoire, as well as the major composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. The musicians like adventurous programming and regard each concert as a performance which has to move the audience. The NBE is always looking for new composers and new ideas and regularly launches adventurous collaborations with children, jazz musicians, world music players, dancers, deejays, veejays and producers. The NBE has its own concert series in Amsterdam, in the Concertgebouw and in the “rock temple” Paradiso. An annual high point is the spectacular New Year Concert put on by the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble in the Main Hall of the Concertgebouw and transmitted live on radio and television. The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble has performed all around the world and undertakes two international concert tours a year. The NBE recorded for Philips and Chandos. With the motto for those who were there, or wished they were the NBE started in 1999 their own CD label NBELIVE.
